From high atop the Marin headlands, January 2011. Focus and stitching aren't great, but it's my first try. Shows the Marin headlands and landslide-prone cliffs at San Francisco. They're composed of the Franciscan melange formed in an accretionary wedge when a subduction zone existed along the California coast.

Cliffs of Franciscan melange in Marin Headlands State Park just north of San Francisco. These jumbled rocks formed when a subduction zone was along the California coast in the Jurassic through Cretaceous.
