  16. Telecentric lens

    The front element needs to be the same size as the image field.
    These lenses have the feature that they have a fairly large depth of field, and because the light rays are parallel, measurements of length are the same at all distances from the front of the lens. They also have very little pincushion or barrel distortion, meaning that image reconstruction is very simple and quantitative.
