SO with this software and hardware one can get greater detail using cameras mounted around a city and one can see that this would provide security and government agencies with the kind of detail that is required in some terrorist situations.

This zoomable image was completely hand held using steadshot rather than a tripod. The advantage is that I didn't need to wait for the robot to take each image and was able to take all the photos that comprise this image in about 3 minutes so that the exposure problems one can encounter when clouds keep changing the exposure situation come by.

I looked at buying a condo in this building and had a chance to walk out on this roof level dog relief area notice the fire hydrant that is used to wash this artificial turf after so many uses.

The uniqueness of a gigapan like this is that it permits you to zoom in on specific details and in this case on joggers along a path by the arch. This gigapan was actually created NOT using a tripod but a hand held use of a Casio Exlim with a 20x optical zoom lens zoomed out about to a 10x length and stitched using Microsoft's ICE software
