Tail of Centaurus by Christopher Davis from the GigaPan Constellations by Christopher Davis
The rest of the constellation, with Alpha centauri, the closest star to our sun, is just to the left of here. I have a gigapan of that area, but as dark as this is, with the moon, that gigapan would be nearly invisible until you zoom. Very frustrating to browse

definately aberration by Christopher Davis from the GigaPan Sun Halo by Christopher Davis
this is almost a mirror image of the snapshot I took on the right hand panel. So the most reasonable explanation is that all of these are light aberrations, no planets, no stars, no supernova, no UFO

They can't all be aberrations by Christopher Davis from the GigaPan Sun Halo by Christopher Davis
the one to the lower left certainly is. The one to the upper right probably is too because it is in the same linear path as the sun and the one to the left. Mybe it's a planet too but I only have two options, Mercury or Venus, and I already used up one. . .
. . . or its one of several UFO's0 comments

Hexagon by Christopher Davis from the GigaPan Sun Halo by Christopher Davis
These hexagons appear often and i'm not sure if it is the bit cpture of the digital camera or if it is an opticl illusion so to speak, of the light. What I mean by optical illusion is that if you look at a grid of equally sized and spaced circles, your eyes will make out groups of hexagons. Maybe the camera does the same thing here

This is certainly light aberration from the sun reflecting through the lens of the camera

Ancient Stone Masons? by Christopher Davis from the GigaPan Excavation Painel do Pilao Stone wall by Christopher Davis
These grooves are not natural formations. These lines were carved into the wall, my best guess was in order to flatten the wall, make it rectangular. These grooves were almost entirely buried under soil before the excavation, suggesting they are quite a bit old. I won't know how old until I carbon date the excavated levels. The wall is probably mostly made of silicified sandstone, but this could be erroneous. There is a heavy solid iron content to it, not iron dispersed within sandstone, which is common to the region, but rather fused iron metal with sandstone. The material is not only hard but durable. I could not scratch this surface with a pocket knife. What I mean by that (since sand can't be scrathced with a knife either) is that by rubbing a knife or even another rock against the wall, I couldn't remove bits of sand, like what is common in sandstone. It's almost as though this wall was vitrified. If the vitrification was natural, the grooves were done in some very hard material. If the grooves were made before vitrification, the vitrification process was almost certainly unnatural. So the huge question to be answered is how much did the ancients alter this rock? With what technology?

Paupers graves by Christopher Davis from the GigaPan South American City Planning - Amazonian City Belem, Brazil by Christopher Davis
These are graves for the poor and they are on the far eastern side of the cemetery, next to the poorer section of town. Some of these are broken into by homeless people who sleep in them at night. For this reason these cemeteries usually have several night watchmen

The Dragon's Spine by Christopher Davis from the GigaPan Archaeological Excavation Unit 1 by Christopher Davis
This was the base of the excavation pit. It is a massive orange-colored sedimentary rock that has formed a line of corundum (most likely) crystal deposits. The purpleish hue of the gems in contrast to the smooth orange sandstone gave the appearance that we were standing on top of a sleeping dragon!

Artificial Barrier by Christopher Davis from the GigaPan Archaeological Excavation Unit 1 by Christopher Davis
This line of rocks was placed here intentionally, t prevent further collapse of this wall. but the small rocks below this are "in situ". The age of these layers are not yet known but are believed to extend to the end of the last Ice Age

Lithic artifacts trapped in the wall by Christopher Davis from the GigaPan Archaeological Excavation Unit 1 by Christopher Davis
these are lithic fragments that we removed from the wall later, after this photo. They are beneath a huge boulder on a wal that was unstable so we didn't want the wall to collapse while removing them until we were done with everything else

Sun spider? by Christopher Davis from the GigaPan Gruta 15 de Março by Christopher Davis
This image appears to have a smiley face with sun rays as hair, but the body seems to sprout into 5 spindly limbs. There are other images as well but from this angle it is difficult to see them. For instance there is a circle with an inscribed "plus" sign to the left of the sun spider. It is important to note that this spot is one of the few spots where the sun's rays shine on the wall surface. However, I haven't yet determined what time of day, or time of year that might occur
