    The white patch on the underside of the far wing suggests this is a black vulture caught in mid-flap.

    This bridge takes Route 15 over the Potomac River in the stretch between Frederick, Maryland, and Leesburg, Virginia.

    Description:

    Or is it synforms and antiforms?
    ...Depends on which way it got turned over. Based on the westward vergence of the rest of the structures here, I'm guessing 2 antiforms and a central synform.

    Looks like some of the quartz veins were stretched under brittle-ductile conditions, depending on their orientation relative to the stress field.

    Description:

    These fat, relatively-short veins show disharmonic cuspate/lobate folding. Their light color provides good contrast against the dark green of the Catoctin greenstone.

    Description:

    Cleavage is the pervasive moderate-angle feature dipping to the right (east). The steeply-dipping, more widely-spaced features are a prominent joint set.
