NOTAR Helicopter by Sam Churchill from the GigaPan Portland Heliport by Sam Churchill
No Tail Rotor on this McDonald-Douglas MD540N helicopter. It uses a ducted fan which is quieter. Used by the police for patroling.

The KGON Tower by Sam Churchill from the GigaPan Portland, Oregon Cityscape by Sam Churchill
The KGON tower, also called Stonehenge, features a Snively combiner on the very top, which combines several FM stations onto the single antenna. I believe KBOO antennas can be seen lower, on the right. Lower tiers sport microwave platforms for WiMAX and phone companies. Mostly an FM tower, managed by Michael Brown, of Brown Engineering. The TV stations are west of the city, the KGON tower is South.
