On Sixth Street near Garden St. in Hoboken, this is a charter school. The original building was the Martha Institute built in the late 1800s and demolished, but the new school erected their building as tribute to the old one retaining the same scale and architectural elements as the old building.

One of only two works in this exhibit depicting interiors, it shows the bar inside the main entrance to a spot for fine dining, Amanda's Restaurant, 908 Washington St., Hoboken. The title refers to the Early Bird special menu that it has offered for many years.

Another aspect of Hoboken Terminal, a favorite subject of Roig. The ferry slips have been restored and returned to use over four decades after their last use for passengers.

6. Night Train by Hobokenmuseum from the GigaPan Hoboken Historical Museum, Upper Gallery, Hoboken in Print: Hand-Cut Stencil Screen Prints by Ricardo Roig, July 29 – Sept. 9, 2012 by Hobokenmuseum
The Lackwanna Terminal Clock Tower is seen with the Empire State Building in a cityscape from a Jersey City perspective. The re-built clock tower was dedicated in 2008, a replacement for the 1907 original that was removed in 1950-1951 due to deterioration and storm damage.

This vista may disappear in the coming years as development above the train yard is forthcoming.0 comments

19. Lackawanna Light by Hobokenmuseum from the GigaPan Hoboken Historical Museum, Upper Gallery, Hoboken in Print: Hand-Cut Stencil Screen Prints by Ricardo Roig, July 29 – Sept. 9, 2012 by Hobokenmuseum
The track shed on the passenger train platforms at Hoboken (Lackawanna) Terminal. Built in 1907, they were innovative in that era and remain in use. Roig has articulated light and engineering in a dramatic way.

The Terminal is favorite subject of the artist and appears in several other works.0 comments

Modern portal by Hobokenmuseum from the GigaPan Sybil's Cave, Hoboken, New Jersey by Hobokenmuseum
This structure is a tribute to the original which was carved stone. (The structure here is steel stud sheathed in foam board and covered with weatherproof facing and paint.) Only a few remnants were found and are now in the Museum's collections: hoboken.pastperfect-online.com/32340cgi/mweb.exe?request=record;id=A827FF42-8F86-442D-AD42-177692030986;type=101

Cistern 1 by Hobokenmuseum from the GigaPan Sybil's Cave, Hoboken, New Jersey by Hobokenmuseum
This is the cistern that is not seen in Cistern 2 snapshot. The water level seasonal and dependent on rainfall; there had been heavy rains in the week before this gigapan was done. (Water has been tested; non-potable.)

Cistern 2 by Hobokenmuseum from the GigaPan Sybil's Cave, Hoboken, New Jersey by Hobokenmuseum
Between the four pillars is the floor level remains of the water cistern fed from cliff water (and possibly later from an installed water pipe.) It still holds water and is incredibly clear. See the Cistern 1 snapshot taken from the back of the cave where it can be seen clearly. (Water has been tested and is non-potable.)

Empty candy display cases by Hobokenmuseum from the GigaPan Schnackenberg's Luncheonette, 1110 Washington St., Hoboken, New Jersey - Front counter & candy cases - August 13, 2012. by Hobokenmuseum
Normally, molded chocolates in many shapes and characters would be here. Summer heat prevents the usual stocking, but during Halloween, Christmas and especially Easter time, the cases would be full with specialty items. Customers of many ages would make Schackenberg's a destination for these treats.

Cone dispenser by Hobokenmuseum from the GigaPan Schnackenberg's Luncheonette, 1110 Washington Street, Hoboken, N.J. - Soda Fountain - August 13, 2012 by Hobokenmuseum
A vintage ice cream cone dispenser surely from the days when the shop was a true ice cream parlor and made its ice cream and sherbet on site. That end in the 1970s. They still served ice cream in 2012, but it was commercially made elsewhere

Chocolate Bunny on a Motorcycle by Hobokenmuseum from the GigaPan Schnackenberg's Luncheonette, 1110 Washington St., Hoboken - Rear Dining Section - August 9, 2012 by Hobokenmuseum
The molded candy on this poster was made at Schnackenberg's. They have been making candy, both chocolate and other kinds by hand, for as long as they have been open.
The poster was for the Hoboken Historical Museum 2010 exhibition: Yum-Yum, Tootsie Roll and Chocolate Bunnies on Motorcycles...A Sweet History of Hoboken. Schnackenberg's ice cream and candymaking were featured in the exhibit with many original molds, tools, implements and counter service items displayed including the chocolate bunny on the poster.
