Travelling all summer. by Fraser Anderson from the GigaPan Woodbridge Ribfest by Bryan Groulx
Same set up as in Bowmanville 6 or so weeks ago. Right down to the fold out trailer bed to serve as a stage for the band. I tried getting a panorama of the setup at night but could get a viable locatiuon to shoot from. Say hello to the guy with the ice cream truck. We chatted for about 30 minutes the evening they were out our way.

Strata by Fraser Anderson from the GigaPan Lake Mead by Brad Oleksy
Dumb question I'm sure. Is the the water line from higher water levels, is it a natural strata line, or have the managers/designers of the damn sprayed the rock with a cement type mixture to ward off erosion into the lake?

Welding? by Fraser Anderson from the GigaPan Train Wreck Clean Up by Fraser Anderson
These gentlemen were working thier way down the newly laid track, stopping at each joint and performing a number of operations with this jig they attached to the rails. The final operation appeared to be filling each chamber on either side of the jig with a powder and igniting the chambers. This resulted in a small "pop", a bright burst of flame, and a rather large ball of smoke rising from the jig. My guess, and only a guess, is that they're welding continuity wires to either rail. If anyone knows for sure, please let me know.

Interesting device. by Fraser Anderson from the GigaPan Train Derailment Cleanup by Fraser Anderson
Only partially caught here, but included an attached unit with guide lights facing the driver on left and right sides. Used to align the the freshly laid track to correct tolerances. Appear to be hydralic rams to compress or expand the track to proper guage.

Only 1 spike by Fraser Anderson from the GigaPan Train Wreck Clean Up by Fraser Anderson
holding the outside rail. Taking into account the dips and dives in the railbed, I'd guess this section is temporary, expedited to get rail traffice running once again. The second line is buried somewhere in the debris to the right.

Engines of the derailed train. One of the several locomotives pulling the 120 car train caught fire and had to be extinguished.

I'm not a alien ga-ga booster by Fraser Anderson from the GigaPan Ant by Molly Gibson
by anymeans, but one has to wonder . . . If a visage such as this can develop here on earth, and actually be one of the most populous visages here, just how far off are all the alien designers? It is eerie seeing how much thier facial features resemble ours, but how different they are two. Thanks for the pan - really enjoyed this and the previous one.

Nice touch! Accents the flags over the front door. My father in law was in the Canadian Navy in WWII and while he didn't have a mailbox like this, everything around the house had a naval twist. Flew the naval ensign on the flag pole, constantly used phrases picked up from hios 8 years of service. I think he woulda' gotten along royally with you . . .
