The Scaglia Rossa by Alan Pitts from the GigaPan K/T Boundary exposed at Gubbio, Italy by Alan Pitts
A Cretaceous aged marine sedimentary rock, "The scaly red" this is a limestone with a small amount of iron oxides which have experienced oxidation giving the rock its lovely red color. Since depostition this rock was inclined and folded along with the Apennine Mountains.

Paleomag drill holes by Alan Pitts from the GigaPan K/T Boundary exposed at Gubbio, Italy by Alan Pitts
The Scaglia Rossa is an important rock which was used to establish the paleomagnetic time scale. There are too many drill holes to count. This rock has been studied by many geologists.

Do you see bedding? by Alan Pitts from the GigaPan Breccia in Antietam Formation, Swift Shoals by Alan Pitts
These rocks are highly fractured, I took this Gigapan to take a step back and try to make sense of the outcrop. These nearly vertical surfaces seem more like bedding planes than fractures. But it is had to say for certain what is bedding here with out examining the outcrop very closely for sublte sedimentary structurs or trace fossils. What do you think?
