    Description:

    Small sticks were shaped to fit the 1" holes that cover all of the lag bolts.

    1/2" holes were drilled about 1/4" deep for the plugs that cover the screws.

    Description:

    Much time was spent shaping the seat. I used a grinder and lots of sandpaper.

    After shaping the center board I placed it on top of the 2 outer boards and scribed them to fit.

    I used a compass to fit the outer boards up against the legs.

    I made the seat using 3 boards that were 2" thick by 8" wide and 24" long.

    This is one of 4 side rails that hold the front and the back together. I make the upper rails first at 16" and then adjust the length of the bottom rails to give the back the proper lean.

    Description:

    While assembling the front leg section remember that the flat spot on the top rail slopes back. The front of the seat is 1" higher than the back and the seat will be about 18" from front to back.

    Description:

    Cut top of backrest at 15". Whittle down the ends of the log to fit the holes you have drilled. It helps to draw a 2" circle on the end of the log so you know how much wood to remove.

    Cut the 2 back legs at 48". Peel off bark and sand smooth. It helps if the 2 back legs have a slight bend about 16" from the bottom. This will give it some lean.
