Beef is defined as veins of fibrous calcite or calcium carbonate parallel to identifiable sediments, and in this case, the sediments are primarily shale... dark shale and most likely this dark sediment is why this is structure is called Black Ven. Because of the nature of these geological structures of terraced cliffs, there have been mud slides or landslides occurring.
