Located in West-Central Oklahoma this mixed grass prairie is characterized by red hills, high production of mid-grasses, and hardwood trees in the lowland areas. Little Bluestem, Indiangrass, Blue Grama, Sideoats Grama will typically be the dominant grasses. This appears to be a lowland site, probably on a loamy type soil. These soils typically are more productive than the upland site soils. Sites like this are important for soil and water conservation as well as grazing livestock.
