The Winona State University Darrell Krueger Library is the newest building on campus. Completed in 1999, this 108,000 square foot building was designed to be "the library of the future." The Library features 808 seats at study tables and study carrels, 75 seats in lounge areas, and 20 group study rooms for 4, 5, and 6 occupants, all with computer data ports. There are about 1,600 data ports spaced every 15 feet throughout the building, making the ability to access information from student laptops very easy. The main entrance features an in-laid terrazzo floor that artistically depicts life along the Mississippi River.
