I work in the CREATE Lab inside the Robotics Institute at Carnegie Mellon University. I work mostly on GigaPan - my main focus is on a project that empowers scientists to use GigaPan to document and communicate their discoveries both to their peers and to the public. This project, the Fine Outreach for Science, equips and trains scientists on the gigapan system thanks to a generous grant from The Fine Foundation.
So far, we have over 125 scientists using gigapan across the world - the program has been such a huge success that the foundation will fund a conference in November 2010 on gigapixel imaging for science.
