Sheng Wen Lo was born in 1987, Taiwan, where he currently lives and works. He studied photography and digital sound art in National Taiwan University and received his M.S. degree on computer music in 2012. Specializing in lens-based media and digital sound, Lo’s works have been widely exhibited in Taipei, Cork, New York, and Paris.
Lo is currently interested in utilizing photography and videography as means to explore contemporary animal issues and their social significance; these include Pedigree Human, Stereotypy and Polar Bears in Zoos. The most recent project Polar Bears in Zoos has been executed globally, including 17 zoological institutions in ten countries — France, Netherlands, United Kingdom, Belgium, Germany, Czech Republic, Austria, Japan, Singapore and America. He now works as a freelance artist and professional printmaker in Taiwan.
