Maybe you tried to change something you didn’t have access to.

I’m quite new to using my Epic Pro so perhaps I’ve missed something that’s clear to others.

My needs are somewhat special in that the panoramas I will take cannot be posted for public access (arson scenes). I need to be able to upload to a non-public servers, and/or to display in a stand alone mode.

Is there non-browser viewer software that will allow me to display in a stand alone environment. Or, alternatively, is there software that will allow me to upload to a non-public server and display with a browser from a non-public server?

I’ve played with the beta release of Photoshop CS6. Most of the indoor 360 panorama that created problem with other software (either did not work at all like Stich or needed manual input like with hugin) were perfectly treated with PS CS6. And it also does accept raw.

It’s one of the numerous upgraded feature that may make me upgrade my PS when it’s released.

no need for keypad when you can enter change each digit with +-.

As i wrote before, having different setup in memory would allow to save specific configuration easy to recall.

Hello together

I also have the same problem. I’m running Windows Server 2008 R2 with 20GB ram.
Stitch.efx licensensd and with Version 2.0.0501. Still no luck with Version 2. I’m able to import 1 picture and then one again. Sometimes it chrashes with the second picutre, sometimes with the third.
I also have GPS data in the File. (Sony A77) Extra-Fine with 24Mp.

Version 1 works fine, but I like to use the new one.

I start the Programm and then I add one picture and then the next one. When I add all together it crashes too of course.

So i’m looking forward for a new Version which doesn’t have this problems.

Thanks for the tips. I am able to get decent shots using the Pano setting by kicking it in at preview time on the center preview. I also discovered that the Canon I bought to trade my daughter for her old Powershot on the list actually works even better. We un-traded since she likes that old Canon and the ELPH 100 HS has all the appropriate locking and seems to work well for my purposes.

After obtaining the Epic camera specifications from support I decided that the Canon Powershot ELPH 100 HS which I bought in Costco for around $100 would work. It is the proper size, has the locking (WB, AEL, AFL) etc. Test shots seem to be clear. No warnings from the stitcher about exposure differences.

Thank you Ron, your Badlands has always been one of my favorite Gigapans, for two reasons, first, it is awesome, and second, it has an awesome id (12345). I have one awesome id (77777) http://www.3d-360.com/gigapan/?id=77777, I call it my lucky 7’s.

Google came out today with an image pyramid viewer for art collections which is astoundingly awesome, and works well both in desktop and on tablet. http://www.googleartproject.com/fr/collection/v…

On a side note, I have discovered why the performance drops so severely on the iPad3 Retina panorama display at full screen. There seems to be an Apple Safari bug if the < canvas> tag is at the full width of the screen, everything slows down to a camels pace- but when I reduce the resolution by just one pixel width, everything works great- so I have updated my sites and they now have great touch response on the iPad 3

Great work on this, Jason! I’ll add a thanks for pointing to my Castle Rock Badlands shot with your example. I don’t have an iOS device to view these on, but by following your link I discovered that this new addressing scheme also serves as a URL for (near) full screen viewing – something that’s been missing and sorely missed since the website update back in November. That alone is highly valuable to me.

Thanks. I wasn’t aware that there is a pano program that can work with RAW. I will investigate to see if it supports Canon RAW.

My bad, you are right, private gigapans can not be added to galleries at this point.

It doesn’t seem like a bug, but let me get more info on this and I’ll follow up.

Looks like Gigapan.org now features their own viewer for Gigapans on iOS devices, as seen when visiting any Gigapan view page on an iOS device (it will display a link such as http://www.gigapan.org/mobile/iOS/1.0/?id=12345)

The site I created for viewing the Gigapans on iOS devices is still very viable and has 4 times the resolution as the Gigapan site (as Gigapans script is not supporting Retina display resolution)

Gigapans have never looked better than on the Retina display- if you don’t have an iPad 3 when you see one you may want one.

I use Kolor APG Pro – for the most part I love it. I moved to it because gigapan stitch 1 would often create stitch errors (for reasons unknown). I first moved to Hugin – but it won’t stitch when there are areas without detail (sky). The biggest problem with Kolor is there is no vignetting support. Time to review GpanStitch 2……

Exactly. But, it HAS to be obvious to anyone, not hidden behind some menu structure.

I’ve tried your suggestion by creating a new gallery in the method you described. I can add public gigapan images to both galleries but for private gigapan images, the dropdown only shows the check mark.

I noticed in your gallery that your image is public so that does not recreate the condition.

I did try to add an image to a gallery and then make it private. Once private the image no longer exists in the gallery to view and does not show on the edit screen as an image in the bottom table. So that is not the solution.

It is starting to look like their is no private image support in a gallery but that does not make sense since on the edit screen the images in the gallery are shown in the table at the bottom and there is a column to identify the privacy. If there is not public/private option in a gallery, why would there be a column.

I also do not understand the reason for a private link to a gallery if all that can be placed in them is public images. That does not make any sense at all.

It really can’t be this complicated?

This worked for me just now:

a. go to your gigapan’s page,
b. click on “My Galleries” just under the snapshot’s bar
c. use the “Create a new gallery…” link
d. enter the Name and Description, and click Create
e. repeat a. and b.
f. your new gallery should selectable in the dropdown to “Add to Gallery”

I’ve created my first gallery and am looking to add two private images (for now anyway). If you try to add it from the gallery, you can’t search for it to add it. If you try to add it from the private image itself (via the pull down box) the gallery does not exist.

Is this because the images and the gallery are both mine or would this work with someone else’s private image?

I understand the concern about privacy. I personally think we are [as a culture] too concerned in this regard, but I suspect I’m not normal. ;-)

I think the solution is to default to NOT forwarding it, but make it easy to override that default.
