Topic: Embedding / Embedding, need larger window Jason, It’s great to have the embedable virtual reality viewer. It’s perfect for 360 gigapans. And the full screen mode is really handy. Thanks for making all that possible. |

Topic: Gigapan Mechanism / GP Pro on a copy stand? Because the GigaPan imagers are not specifically designed for this and generally need to be in an upright position for proper operation, don’t put too heavy of a camera system on the imager. It could damage it and void your warranty. We’ve heard of others who’ve mounted their imagers on a copy stand; perhaps we’ll see something come up in this thread with further advice. |

Topic: Embedding / Embedding, need larger window My Gigapan Proxy is only an internet browser enhancement, it is using the Gigapan.com resource to host your images, as well as the Gigapan.com api, so a link to them should be absolutely required in any viewer, otherwise you should host the image on your own server. Much like the way Flickr works with their images and api, a link back is required. |

Topic: Gigapan Mechanism / Control # of pictures? Hi Bruce, The Gigapan will help you determine that during the ‘camera setup’, it has you move the camera so that the horizon is at the top of your viewfinder, press enter, then move it until the horizon is at the bottom of your viewfinder (or screen). This allows the Gigapan unit to calculate the field of view and will set up the stops accordingly. You can then write this info down for a given lens focal length and input it in again later (no easy way to just put the field of view in, still have to go through setup) So, with your help, it does it automagically. Good luck Jason |

Topic: Embedding / Embedding, need larger window Hello gyllander, You and everyone are welcome to embed your panoramas using my Gigapan proxy viewer (for 3D virtual reality panoramas or flat panoramras), by placing it within an Iframe tag on your site such as this code is: <iframe src=‘http://www.3d-360.com/view-remote-image-in-3d-3…’ border=0 width=800 height=400 scrolling=no></iframe> Enjoy Jason |

Topic: General Gigapanning / Stitcher Notes You could export your stitched panorama, and save it without going straight to Upload. Then, open the Upload app (not the one bundled in Stitch) and your panorama will be uploaded to your page without the Stitcher Notes. |

Topic: General Gigapanning / Several problems Hi, I just got my Epic pro which I’ll try to use to shoot spherical timelapse but I got a few problems. 1. When ever the camera (5d mkII) is triggered it always takes two photos when the shutter on the camera is 1/6 or faster, which it would be almost everytime. (“Mult Picture” is set to 1, so that’s not the reason) 2. I’m testing with a fisheye, and is only take three shots in a full 360 rotaions, but with timelapse it doesn’t take the photo at the exact same spot, so instead of a stationary timelapse it will end up looking like it’s panning. like a full rotation is 360,1 degress and not 360. This is quite a big issue! 3. When doing 360 panos I start by picking the top position and then the bottom position, if the top is shooting straight up and the bottom is lower, then it will take the same amount of photos at the top as at the bottom, and as it’s pointing straight up I’ll get several shots of exactly the same just with different rotation, one shot straight would be enough, so are the way so the number of shot per row isn’t the same for all angles? 4. is it normal that the clamp is extremely hard to mount on the gigapan, I have to push down the small chrome cyllinder in order to close the clamp, but pusing the cyllinder down is VERY hard, can easily take me 5 minutes just to mount the camera. Hope anyone can help with the above /Thomas |

Topic: General Gigapanning / Important! HELP? Here is the solution that solved the problem zuk10 describes. If anyone else receives a “Runtime Error B2” when upgrading firmware from v 128 to v 171, try updating your Epic Pro via USB power: 1. Power up the unit in firmware update mode by holding down the “up” button and the power button with the battery inserted into the unit. 2. Plug the USB cable into the imager once it says “firmware import”, and then the computer. Once the unit is plugged in, remove the battery. Your firmware update to the Epic Pro will proceed on USB power alone. The Epic Pro screen may be dim or appear faint, but don’t worry; the USB has enough power to update. 3. Follow the other instructions for importing, and your imager should now be updated to the new firmware. |

Topic: Stitch / 300mm overlap Whenever you use a new focal length lens on a camera for GigaPanning (or change the zoom) you need to reset the Field of View on the GigaPan robot. This is done under “Gigapan Setup”. The fact that you used a fixed length lens doesn’t absolve you from needing to do this the first time you use that lens. The act of changing from your previous lens to the 300mm was the act of changing the “zoom”. As a general practice, it’s also wise to watch the first couple of images taken during any GigaPan capture sequence to confirm visually that you’re getting ~30-40% overlap between adjacent images. It’s much easier to correct this in the field than after the fact, as you’ve now discovered. |

Topic: Stitch / 300mm overlap Overlap set at 25% I borrowed a 300mm lens to take a GigaPan today and when I got to the “set zoom” I clicked on through because there is no changing the 300. When I went to stitch it together there is no overlap. In fact, the images don’t even tough. Can anybody help (I do not read manuals well, I admit!) |

Topic: Upload / Viewer - Uploader Hi Larry, I am an Military Policeman and had the same issue as you. For this we use a HTML file which is coded to open a panorama from a local source. This is very useful. We now provide gigapans as evidence on DVD. You can use this to find a file on your evidence server and send the HTML file to anyone with access to the server to run from there If you PM me i can provide details on how to do this. Richard |
