Topic: Web Site and Forum / new gigapans not searchable Several of my newest gigapans do not show up using the website search bar and my profile name. I can log in and see them under my account, but other users searching my name will not see them. Is there some way to have the website update or index newer files? Thanks |

Topic: Gigapan Mechanism / How accurate is the Epic 100 with long lenses? No, there wasn’t any significant wind. I think my next step will be to try another Pano with the epic 100, this time with the G9. That way the only variable is the imager. |

Topic: Gigapan Mechanism / How accurate is the Epic 100 with long lenses? Hard to comment without seeing the input image set and/or the stitched GigaPan. I’ve had good success with the Epic100/Canon T2i/Canon 70-300mm lens combo, so I don’t think its and inherent problem with the Epic100 and long lenses. Did you have a lot of wind and/or notice any gear slippage during shooting? That might lead to these sort of odd overlaps. I ask about the wind because I know from experience that it can add enough force to cause the gears to slip if you don’t watch it closely when using a long lens. |

Topic: Gigapan Mechanism / How accurate is the Epic 100 with long lenses? After having used a silver Epic and a Canon Powershot G9 successfully since beta, I finally purchased a new Epic 100 and a canon Powershot SX40 super zoom to use with it. While the panos that I shot with the epic/g9 combo at 200mm typically had vertical and horizontal overlap value ranges that hovered around 30%, I’ve seen something much different with the few that I’ve shot with the epic100/sx40 at 840mm. As an example, for the most recent one, horizontal overlap ranged from 6.4 to 28.4 percent and vertical ranged from 4.3 to 91.8 percent. That seems excessive, although the pano stitched relatively well for a skyline. It makes me wonder if I got a bad imager, if the accuracy of the epic 100 isn’t up to a lens that long or if there’s a bug in the new stitch software. Anyone care to comment? |

Topic: Third-Party Stitchers / Upload GIGAPAN in your hosting I’ve been looking for much, but there is not much information in this regard. Therefore I am looking for and trying to find as creating a panoramic and upload it to my server but really have not found anything that serves. I have found many softwares payments to this, example Panotour Pro 1.8, 300 euros. But i cannot understand, because everything is so far-fetched that you have to upload work to the servers of Gigapan. Does anyone have idea as upload it and see it from my server without having to pay additional software? Best regards. BTW. Sorry for my bad english, but i speach spanish. |

Topic: Web Site and Forum / Why aren't Portfolios shown in My Galleries? When I want to manage my GigaPan Galleries I naturally go to “My Home > My Galleries”. The problem is, one of my most important galleries “Ron Schott’s Portfolio” is not listed there, for reasons I cannot understand. My impression is that every user account has a default “User Name’s Portfolio” gallery, but very few people have discovered this or populated it. I don’t even remember how I first found my own, but the logical place to go looking for it is under “My Home > My Galleries”. So I’d like to suggest the following… First, each user’s (default) portfolio gallery should show up under “My Home > My Galleries”, even if they haven’t been populated yet. Second, once a user has populated their portfolio, a link to their portfolio should be added automatically to the user’s profile page (with the option to opt out, if necessary for privacy reasons). Furthermore, once a user has populated their portfolio, I’d suggest that the default GigaPan images that show up on one’s Profile Page (e.g., http://www.gigapan.com/profiles/rschott) be drawn from the portfolio gallery rather than the user’s oldest images (as is currently the case). And last, I’d like to be able to organize the GigaPans in my portfolio in a more granular way – I don’t think Explore Score should necessarily be the default organizing tool here. (I realize, however, that this request may require a bigger change to the way all galleries are handled – ideally I’d like this flexibility for all galleries – so I understand if it can’t be implemented quickly.) [And another thing: I’d like to be able to edit the Forum title that I created but clearly didn’t proofread before hitting ‘submit’. D’oh!!!] |

Topic: General Gigapanning / Share your mistakes! I understand turning off image stabilization, but are there times when it would help with a longer lens if there is a little bit of wind? |

Topic: Web Site and Forum / Following users I absolutely second this request. I’ve previously asked for RSS feeds for users and tags. I first made this request in early 2008 and have repeated it numerous times since then. This is one of the most glaringly missing social features of this website. I suspect no other single feature addition would do more to promote conversation on the site. The only RSS implemented on the website remains feeds for individual GigaPans, which largely duplicates other notification methods and is useless for what Tim and I are seeking. |

Topic: Web Site and Forum / Following users Hi, is there any way (or any plan or add) the ability to follow other users? Some people shoot great gigapan saw and it’s would be great to be able to keep up with their work. I don’t see any way to friend or follow or like somebody. Tim |
