The Cowichan River is famous for it's annual steelhead trout run with the bigger fish reaching as much as 20 pounds. However, last year there was a danger of the run being lost because of extremely low water levels due to lack of rain for several months. The clear waters of the Chehalis, one of the cleanest rivers in BC, is noted for it's run of steelhead trout in the winter and early spring. Magnificent old growth forest of cedar, fir and hemlock surround the area. Neaby is Harrison Hot Springs in the upper Fraser Valley.
