  1. Edi and Berti climbed atop a boulder of banded iron formation (BIF) in Soudan, Minnesota.

  2. Here a diabase sill is seen exposed in a roadcut above the sedimentary Gunflint Formation. This is located at the entrance to the Terry Fox Monument (my.tbaytel.net/jmehagan/parks/terryfox/terryfox.htm Will open in a new tab or window) just east of Thunder Bay, Ontario.

  3. Exposed in a roadcut just south of Wawa, Ontario, this is one of the Banded Iron Formations (BIFs) in a greenstone belt of the Superior Province.

  4. The same BIF seen in cross section in another roadcut exposure that's uploading, this is the top surface of that exposure where the iron formation has been glacially sculpted and polished.

  6. This is definitely not the most impressive roadcut of Gowganda Fm. tillite north of Elliot Lake, Ontario, however due to highway construction on the day I passed thru it was the most impressive one that I had access to for GigaPanning purposes.
