  1. This snapshot was taken by the AWARE-2 gigapixel camera described in Multiscale Gigapixel Photography (Nature, June 2012). All the subimages making up this composite were taken simultaneously by 98 microcameras behind a large objective. The field of view of the AWARE-2 camera is 120 degrees.
