People drive an hour or more to spend a day at the lake. A large cottonwood tree provides shade and a display of tangled roots by the water's edge.
Scraped and graded trails, maintained foot paths, and coyote trails all have thier own markings.
A steep path leads to the lake here. Elsewhere, only a clay and rock slope provide an express route to the reeds below, and a difficult return at best.
