  1. Edi and Berti climbed atop a boulder of banded iron formation (BIF) in Soudan, Minnesota.

  2. Exposed in a roadcut just south of Wawa, Ontario, this is one of the Banded Iron Formations (BIFs) in a greenstone belt of the Superior Province.

  3. The same BIF seen in cross section in another roadcut exposure that's uploading, this is the top surface of that exposure where the iron formation has been glacially sculpted and polished.
