360 from Kakaako jetty, a favorite entry point for surfing the south shore. In the summer waves rise on the south shore and have recently gotten as big as 25 feet. In Hawaii we measure waves from the back, so a 25 foot wave means a 50 foot face, or more. -

This panorama was taken on Jumping Rock. A 50-ft high rock located on the sand where beach-goers use to jump into the ocean. The waves are huge here in this part of Hawaii. Closer view of gigapan.org/gigapans/33895/ Here you can see the repairs going on with the concrete at the base of the towers with a lot of exposed re-bar yet to be filled with new concrete. Moving clouds were causing the stripes.
