The "high point" for many thousands of visitors to Banff and Jasper National Park. Rising majestically up from the banks of the Alexandra River, the mountain reaches nearly 11,000 feet in this early morning view from the Icefields Parkway. There was considerable smoke in the air from more than 300 forest fires buring in BC, but it makes for rather subdued pastel colours.
