This was taken from on top of the Cog Railway tracks on Mt Washington. Look at all the rime ice on that has accumulated on everything. The chains on the nearby building are actually for anchoring the roof down. For a complete trip report and additional pictures, go here: mitoc.mit.edu/gallery/washington_gigapan

This was taken on the way down from Mt Washington via Boott Spur. The large ravine is Tuckerman's Ravine, which usually retains snow for 10 months of the year. For a complete trip report and additional pictures, go here: mitoc.mit.edu/gallery/washington_gigapan

Just 24 hrs earlier the windchill where this picture was taken was -57F. I'll let you figure out the temp and windspeed. For a complete trip report and additional pic...

This was taken near sunrise from the top of Mt Washington, in NH. The buildings are part of the Mt Washington Observatory. The gigapan mount behaved spectacularly in the 5 degree F conditions. I set up a Canon Power Shot on the mount, and the system happily took about 800 pictures over ONE HOUR and didn't even comp...

I took this shot with a Nikon D70 and hand held it. It took 30 images. 10 across the top, 10 middle and 10 bottom. I stitched them with Autostitch. I was standing at 7,500 ft on the north side of Mt. Adams in Washington State.
