This lagoon was created in the early 1970s with a dam that blocked the tidal exchange. Recently, the Chester Creek entrance has been improved to help restore the aquatic ecosystem. At the right, a student from Alaska Pacific University is setting up a system to monitor fish that are returning to the lagoon.

Said to be the oldest house in Anchorage. Built in 1915, Oscar Anderson lived in this house for nearly 60 years. Local legend has it that Oscar's ghost is still in this house.
