I took this to test the stitcher's ability to work with difficult lighting and contrast (black bottle neck on black background). After failing to stitch properly with previous versions of the GigaPan stitcher,or any other stitcher I tried, GigaPan stitcher 0.4.2735 finally got it right. The earlier GigaPan stitchers ...

This diminutive endemic Hawaiian lobelia, Cyanea asarifolia, is now presumed extinct in the wild. It's range was restricted to the base of 3,000 ft. cliffs at the "Blue Hole" at the base of Mt. Wai`ale`ale, the rainiest spot on Earth. These plantlets, when grown to sufficient size in a greenhouse, may one day be plan...

Multi focal plane macro panorama. I paused the GigaPan after the first frame, then used the forward button to move the camera, and manual focus/manual shutter release (with 2 second delay) to take between one and five focal planes per frame. I then used Helicon Focus to combine the focal planes to get greater depth o...

The GigaPan unit was mounted vertically on a copy stand for this macropanorama. The lens adapter, close-up lens, and tele-extender were stacked on the zoom lens of the Canon PowerShot S5-IS. This setup allowed the GigaPan unit to take >100 frames in about 1 square foot area.

I took this macropanorama with the GigaPan mounted onto a copy stand, camera pointing down. I added the lens adapter, 250D close up lens, and 1.5X tele extender to the Canon S5-IS. It's 16R x 12C stitched, then cropped and color corrected using PhotoShop CS2. Image taken 5/3/2008.

This is my first attempt at taking a macropanorama with multiple focal planes. I used the "Last Panorama" function on the GigaPan unit to retake the same field, but only after selecting another focal plane. I then used Helicon Focus software to render each frame, then stitched the panorama from the rendered frames wi...
