A large, tornadic thunderstorm fired up about 50 miles west of Hays, KS around noon today. A gigapan of a thunderstorm spawning a second storm (the younger smaller one is slightly front and to the left. A third may develop closest to the camera as it is just beginning to show vertical development. Taken from hear Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, the storms are actually over Lancaster County to the south.

Early morning sun breaks through as the dramatic black storm clouds hang in the west. This is one of the more than 25 GigaPans I recorded on a weekend trip to Southern Alberta. I put on more than 1960 km on the 3 day trip on the Canada Day weekend. Milk River is close to the Canada-US border at Coutts & Sweetgrass.
