13-Jul-09 Behind the group camping area, Berry Hill, Gros Morne National Park, where we stashed the BioBus, there was a dry-ish bog where we set the Malaise trap and the pitfall traps.

17-Jul-09 Tablelands of Gros Morne National Park, Newfoundland. A view well worth the climb up from the access parking off Hwy 431. Ants found all the way to the top (Myrmica, Leptothorax and Formica).

16-Jul-09 The 2009 BioBus collection crew waiting for Miles to return from an afternoon of collecting. He showed up perfectly timed to be caught in the final frames. Limestone area that is much more productive than many of the other areas that we've been - some neat stuff. Including perhaps the first Lasius species...

14-Jul-09 After the bog from the edge of the pond on the trail from hwy 430 towards the Western Brook Pond. Beautiful day and trail with the stunning fjords behind made for a sublime collecting day. Unfortunately, the absence of sunblock made for a very red neck too.

18-Jul-09 Near the Tablelands of Gros Morne National Park, Newfoundland. Low tide on the beach allowed some of the group to go looking for the sea caves - a walk that became much longer than they'd anticipated! Thankfully, everyone returned safely, though much more drenched and tired than before.

14-Jul-09 From the top of Berry Hill just after a downpour. You can see the group camping where we set nightlights, and the bog where our malaise and pitfall traps worked.
