We're now testing using StarDot 5 megapixel IP cameras in our gigavision timelapse system. While we lose a bit of resolution -- 1 gigapixel vs 3 gigapixel with the 16MP DSLR -- we gain a lot in reliability compared to the canon DSLR's we've been using. With a 200mm equivalent lens you can get about 1.1 gigapixel resolu...

Rainy night shot from our time-lapse gigapixel camera. The lovely wierd lighting effects at the edges are from the rain on the top of the camera dome. The whole thing came out very beautifully. I'm looking forward to seeing what the time lapse at night will look like. Gigapixel timelapse player here: www.gigv

I've been tweaking the overlap settings on our gigapixel timelapse camera that uses the netcam ip camera in salt lake city. Looks like 400 images works just as well as 700. NBice shot of salt lake on a snow day in a lull between storms. Interactive gigapixel timelapse from this camera here: www.gigavision.org
