This is an old elevated rail line that runs through lower Manhattan. It has been converted into a park and this view is from 17th street looking north. The scene was very high contrast, with white buildings in direct sun on the left side, and old dark red brick buildings in the shadow on the right side. I set the exp...

They are pumping sand from Gunnison beach to the south. The small white buildings are pumps, and they use the crane to move the end of the pipes around on the bottom in the surf, pumping the sand through the pipes (which are buried along the main road through the park).

Port Chalmers is the deep water port on Otago Harbour. It is where the first organised European settlers arrived in Otago (1848). It looked a bit different then (www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~nzlwo/images/port_chalmers_1848.jpg
).
I sat and ate lunch while the image took. It was a quite grey day to begin wit...-

When you arrive at St. Louis's City Museum, this is what you see, except with people climbing on, around, over, and under "MonstroCity", an enormous structure made from the leftover pieces of buildings and vehicles. In back, the looming International Shoe building, where more like this awaits inside (and soon, on top)....
