  2. A hillside in the Gypsum Hills, southwest of Medicine Lodge, Kansas. Permian age redbeds and evaporites are laced with veins and layers of the mineral gypsum (CaSO4*2H2O).

  4. Just east of the San Rafael Swell this hill is composed entirely of sedimentary rocks of the dinosaur-bearing Jurassic Morrison Formation.

  5. There's a subtle vignetting because I didn't use enough overlap between the images - other stitching irregularities probably for the same reason.
