My mother and father used to run the Beanery restaurant there in the late 30's and early 40's. Not much has changed. Via Rail passenger trains still make regular stops here between their runs from Jasper and Prince George.

Sheriff Israel Umbach took a drastic step to recover taxes owed to the Town of Stony Plain in 1907...he chained the locomotive to the track until the taxes owing were paid. This is one of the many historic murals depicting the history of Stony Plain and area.

At one time the legendary Kettle Valley Railway ran through the canyon. This is the entrance to the canyon at Othello where the original tunnels still exist. Part of the KVR line was used when the Coquihalla Highway was built over top of the old grades.

Hand held pano of the bridge at high tide. Britannia Bridge is the second crossing of the Menai Strait, it was originally a rail bridge designed by Robert Stephenson using a revolutionary tubular design. The metal archwork and road deck were added in the 1970's after a major fire.
