Sheriff Israel Umbach took a drastic step to recover taxes owed to the Town of Stony Plain in 1907...he chained the locomotive to the track until the taxes owing were paid. This is one of the many historic murals depicting the history of Stony Plain and area.

This mural depicts the era when cotton was king. There is not much cotton produced around Magnolia any more. The farm land is used mostly for raising cattle while the majority of the land in the area is covered in pine trees.
