This is a wonderful, but lesser known view of Mt Hood from near Parkdale, Oregon north east of the mountain. During late August and early September you are able to fully appreciate all of the hazards relating to glaciers as well as see the underlying ground and its characteristics. Later in the fall and winter the vi...

Wahclella Falls is another wonderfull waterfall in the Columbia river gorge on the Oregon side of the river. It is located at exit 40 off of I-84 next to the Bonneville dam. The flow of water is voluminous in the summer months as well as spring.

Seattle skyline at night from the Jose Rizal bridge. Captured with a Nikon D3s and a 300mm f/2.8. I had a job earlier that night which kept me from capturing this image at twilight. You can find some blurry sections due to the difficulty of timing shots on the bridge with traffic. The highway provides a leading lin...

I highly recommend a hike on the Boynton Canyon trail in Sedona, AZ at night under the stars and moon. It is absolutely magical and soothes the soul.

I made a short side trip from Pittsburgh, Pa to capture some photos. Should have left the night before to add a full day with sunny skies. I was amazed by the number of people leaving Union station in order to arrive at work before 0730. I beat my record for cancelled flights at three. Though I managed to avoid be...

Arrived after sunset with some moon light illuminating the scene. Difficult to obtain critical focus. There were wind gusts as well which I was not able to compensate for by using a fast shutter speed because I was capturing this after sunset.

It is difficult to capture cargo vessels from this bridge because of the number of exposures that are required to capture the dynamic range. I learned not to be so concerned about the longer exposures such as 21 seconds because brief disturbances do not effect the image as much. I used five exposures per position to...
