I was lucky enough to be shooting a gigapan of this section of the glacier when an enormous piece of ice broke off. Some of this shows up in the panorama, but most of the action does not appear. La Azul is a volcanic lagoon at the Somuncura Plateau in Rio Negro, Argentina. The lagoon is in the middle of the crater of an extinct volcano and acts as a reservoir of water. The panorama shows the North/West rim of the crater lit by the first rays of sunlight.
