An 'Ohi'a tree on an 'a'a flow up along Mauna Loa Strip road - probably about the 6000 foot level. Just learning gigapan-ing and thought it was interesting. Overcast, so I'll have to go back on a sunny day!

The source region for the 1907 Lava Flow on Mauna Loa volcano, Hawaii. Looking downslope. Black lava is 1907 flow. Lighter brown lava are from older flows.
