Always looking out for picturesque aspens, I came along the grove in the Alberta foothills between Highwood River and Lundbreck on Highway 22. I must come back her in the fall and repeat the study when the leaves have turned to gold.

This is the Wilson Creek Coulee badlands near Drumheller, Alberta, part of Dinosaur Provincial Park. Many of the fossils in the Tyrell Museum have come from these badlands. There's a young girl peeking out from behind one of the hoodoos. ( I'll let you find her and do a snapshot of her) High resolution large form...

Mid October brings out a soft palette of pastel colors at Hemp Creek crossing, Wells Gray Provincial Park, British Columbia. The hill behind the barn is covered in White Birch, Trembling Aspen, Douglas Fir, spruce, poplar and pine. The ruins of the old barn date from the early 1920's.

The panorama shows some of the details on the headstones. I particularly noticed some of the infant graves dating from around 1916. I think these children may have died from the influenza epidemic.

Bow Lake and Crowfoot Mountain in the Canadian Rockies. While I was setting up the Gigapan there were a couple of photographers on the left with their big Canon lenses taking photos of birds nearby. Little did they know they were being immortalized in one of my first Gigapans! Update: This will be the first of my ...
