Well protected by the overhang and high above the canyon floor, the Cliff Palace is the largest of all the cliff dwellings at Mesa Verde. Home to hundreds of people that farmed the top of the mesa, the Cliff Palace is the largest for ceremonial purposes.

Spruce Tree House constructed between 1200 and 1279 A.D. This is the third largest cliff dwelling in Mesa Verde National Park with 129 rooms and 8 kivas. It is thought that up to 100 people may have lived here at one time
