I took this 32 frame hand held right before the rain arrived, so no 400 frame gigapan. I'll return in early May to try again.
This Gigapan overlooks Halema'uma'u Crater within the Kilauea caldera. It was taken on December 5 from the viewing area at the Jaggar Museum.
A view from the West end of the caldera just below the tree line. This rocky ledge is known as a Lava Subsistance Terrace. The eruption that created this was in 1959.
Caldera of the Kīlauea Volcano. Was not active or flowing during my visit in June of 2011.
