This coal train picked up it's load of high grade coking coal from the mines in the Cardinal River area south of Hinton, Robb and Cadominm about 130 km southeast of Jasper. The coal is destined for overseas shipping to Asia via the port of Vancouver.

My mother and father used to run the Beanery restaurant there in the late 30's and early 40's. Not much has changed. Via Rail passenger trains still make regular stops here between their runs from Jasper and Prince George.
