Shot from Tour Montparnasse with the Eiffel Towercentered. Other famous locations such as the Arc or the Sacre Coeur are visible in the distance as well. The clouds that day were a little troublesome, which was unfortunate for the lighting (and transistions between photos) in the shot.

La Defense is a modern structure resembling the looks of the Arc the Triomphe. This Panorama was made from the top of it. In the distance the original Arc can be seen, as well as the Eiffel Tower and more.

This is a 14" gun. That means it fires a shell with a 14" diameter. It appears to be just cast randomly in a former San Francisco Bay mud flat. Pretty freaky!

From the roof of n242 - but not the roof of the tower! looking east across the San Francisco Bay at the East Bay hills. It was cold and blustery, and a tall ladder was involved to get here. Snow is visible on the hills - the snow line came down to 2000 feet or so.

The Unitary Plan wind tunnels at NASA Ames research center are a National Civil Engineering landmark. The water cooling facilities are cool.
