The Similkimeen River winds its way through southern BC near the village of Hedley, once a thriving gold mine. The road climbs the steep hillside to the Nickel Plate Mine which is still in production. Grades are as steep as 15% but the view from above is worth the climb.

I finally received my panoramic gimble tripod head, so I thought I'd try it on something familiar first. Victoria's inner harbour is always beautiful, day or night, but it gets particularly stunning during the Christmas holidays.
