Here's Government Plaza in Minneapolis on a balmy April First. That's Hennepin County Government Center on the left and Minneapolis City Hall on the right. By merest coincidence, this panorama captured a number of gigapanographers, some more than once. Can you find the following people? Bill Alberts (logdoggy) http...

This is a test of a technique to capture action in low light. I used the Canon G10 to capture the scene at .25-.60 second, ISO 80, accepting the fact that I could not capture peak action. I then shot action with the Nikon D3 at ISO 1000 and patched those parts into the scene in Photoshop. The Canon fits the GigaPan but...

If this pano looks a little low, it's because the GigaPan blurred all the top-row images despite the use of the 2-sec self-timer. Let me know if anyone has a fix for this. Stitching notes: GigaPan Stitcher version 0.4.3865 (Macintosh) Panorama size: 384 megapixels (39328 x 9775 pixels) Input images: 48 (12 column...

I'm working on strategies to capture action in a GigaPan. I took a grid of photos with a tripod-mounted Nikon D3, then went back and shot action at various points along the track. Then I patched these action shots into the scene. I couldn't resist putting several rides together -- in real life there'd only be one car o...

Art meets traditional Minnesota culture every year at the Art Shanties Project. The usual clusters of ice fishing houses on Minnesota lakes are re-imagined as themed art installations. As one writeup (tinyurl.com/yaj8ccg
) described it, "the ad hoc assortment of whimsical art shanties offers both a celebration of...-

Which kind of camera makes a better panorama: a full-frame DSLR or a point-and-shoot? This is a test that pits my Canon G10 (with a 1.54X tele attachment) against my Nikon D3 with 80-210mm Nikkor zoom. Here you see the point-and-shoot Canon in the GigaPan Epic mount.
