Weighing about 40,000 tons, this quartzite boulder was calved off the mountains about 400 km north of here near Jasper during the last ice age about 10,000-18,000 years ago. Now it sits in this farmer's field which made the farmer rather angry, cuz it ruined his brand new plow. ;o)
While I was setting up the shot, a pair of rock climbers were scrambling over the boulder.
