187 images taken on a home-brewed microscope (meiji biological microscope modified by me to work with polarised light and a Zeiss objective which gives a perfect, flat, field) with a Nikon D60 using direct objective projection. The section is from an OU set and is simply listed as an ignimbrite from Italy. The section is taken with crossed polars (obviously). A first attempt at a large non-Gigapan gigapan, stiched with PTGUI but restricted to 25000 pixels wide because that's the largest jpeg that version of the software can handle. Bright spots across the image seem to be sensor reflections, which I'm not sure how to deal with.
