Thin section of micaceous quartzite from the Rattlesnake Thrust from Pownal, Vermont. Field of view is approximately 20 by 27 mm. Dark seams are muscovite-chlorite-rich layers, and some folds are defined by the layers. Scattered feldspar grains also present.
Crossed polarizers at 65 degrees.
