Description

Anvers Island including Mt. Agamemnon, Francais, Rennie, Moberly, William and the southern range on Wienke Island shot from the south on the Outcast Islands in the Palmer Station vicinity. The Marr Ice Piedmont covers southwest Anvers Island. Part of the US Antarctic Program's Palmer Station research base can be seen on ice-free Gamage Point below the mountains, and some of the near islands of the Palmer Basin ASMA can be seen, including Torgersen, and Litchfield (ASPA #113). Gigapan photo composed of 96 pictures shot on January 16, 2012 by Paul Queior and Natalie Harr on behalf of Dr. Rick Lee's "bugger" science team B-256-P which studies the wingless midge under NSF/OPP Award 0837559, and in support of their educational outreach program with Crestwood Local School District in Ohio.
