Tree Next to Drvieway with Flash by Anne Rowland

This was made with a flash for each exposure. I manually advanced the GigaPan so that the camera would have enought time to recover/recharge from each flash.

I had gone out to shoot because the weather was getting interesting towards sunset, the wind was picking up and some stormy-looking clouds were coming in. I was interested in showing the tree and the blowing leaves with the flash while still retaining some of the color and detail in the clouds and the rest of the background. I ended up shooting little sections, especially of the sky, because the color kept getting more and more intense, so had to put parts together in Photoshop afterwards.

This is in Bluemont, Virginia (U.S.A.) about 45 miles west of Washington, D.C., September 28, 2010.
